Centre for Child Law Cases
The Centre’s mission is to work towards the development of child law and the realisation of children’s rights in South Africa. One of the ways in which the achieves this is through impact litigation to obtain precedent-setting judgments and court orders that advance children’s rights.
South African Cases
South African courts produce a number of judgments relating to the protection and advancement of children’s rights. The Centre is not always involved in cases but sees the importance of judgments coming of cases that it is not involved in. Here you will be provided with a link to a page that contains up to date judgments as well as an archived collection of judgments.
African Cases
The African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child notes that the promotion and protection of the rights and welfare of the child also implies the performance of duties on the part of everyone. This includes the fulfilment of duties by courts in other African countries. Here the Centre promotes access to judgments from other African courts.
