The Centre for Child Law entered into an agreement with the Legal Aid Board in terms of which the Centre provides assistance to the Legal Aid Board practitioners on matters relating to children. The Centre sends out a weekly update on child law matters called "issues", as listed below:

Prof Skelton starts at the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child 

In May 2017, Professor Skelton attends her first session as a member of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child (“UNCRoC”) in Geneva, Switzerland.

Prof Skelton was elected to the Committee in June last year after being voted in by a majority of member states. Her term of office is for four years, from 2017 to 2021.

The UNCRoC holds three sessions a year and receives reports from States on their compliance with the Convention on the Rights of the Child. The 18 member committee is made up of independent experts from around the world.
